COMPREHENSIVE OPHTHALMOLOGIST, EYE DISEASE AND SURGERY, OCULOPLASTICS
Betsy P. Luo, M.D., M.P.H. earned a B.A. in Economics from Columbia University in New York, NY. She subsequently attended Yale School of Public Health in New Haven, CT, where she earned an M.P.H. in Health Care Management. She continued on to work as a health care consultant with ECG Management Consultants, Inc, based in Seattle, WA and specialized in strategic and management planning for Academic Medical Centers. She then returned to medical school, receiving her MD from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.
She did her preliminary medicine internship at Crozer Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pennsylvania. Dr. Luo then completed her ophthalmology residency at the Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She followed her residency with Oculoplastics training with the Wills Eye Oculoplastics group in Wynnewood, PA.
Dr. Luo has received multiple honors and awards. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and participated in many research projects. She is an active associate for the Center for Value Based Medicine, focusing on quality of life studies and health assessment. She is also a member of the Academy of Ophthalmology, the Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Medical Association.
In her free time, she cherishes family time with her husband Michael and two children, Isabella and Alexander. She also enjoys traveling, running, hiking, and cooking.
